Feature Update – Creating Payment Items

‘Payments & Dues’ feature helps you manage different aspects of payment management in sports teams. Right from collecting and managing fees to charging for jerseys, gear etc., to event tickets to fundraisers – InstaTeam literally brings all of it to your fingertips; just a few taps and you are good to go.

To take a use case, suppose you are giving team jerseys or game gear to team players for some stipulated price. InstaTeam allows you to create a payment item for jerseys and gear, or create two separate payment items, in just a few steps. In an instance, you will be able to receive payment for these items and see who has paid, who is due, how much total payment is received and so on. Here’s how you can easily create payment items for your team.

Open the InstaTeam app/page.

Click on the ‘Payments & Dues’ tab in the top navigation bar.

Now click ‘Add Item’.

As you click on ‘Add Item’, the prompter will show you two options – ‘Subscription’ and ‘Payment Items’.

Select ‘Subscription’ if you wish to add payments that are recurring, or due monthly, quarterly so on like training fees. Select ‘Payment Item’ if  you wish to add a payments that are one time, or for a particular thing, say team jerseys or gear.

As a use case, say you want to add ‘Payment Item’ for team jerseys. After clicking on ‘Add Item’, choose ‘Payment Item’.

The Prompter will ask you to choose team. If you have added your payment details, you’ll be taken to add details of the payment items. If not you will be asked to add payment details.

Click yes and add your payment details. You can link your PayPal or Stripe account. If you don’t have a PayPal or Stripe account, creating one is really simple and can be done within fraction of a minute. Once your payment account is linked, you will need to put your ‘Payment Item’ details like name of the payment item, due date, reminder date etc. The transactional fee is calculated automatically based on sale price of the item and your payment method. InstaTeam fee is the nominal amount we need to charge to process your financial transaction, which is also calculated on the basis of the sale price of the item. You can choose to charge this fee to the team member or have it deducted from the amount you get.

Scroll down. Here you need to add who all are due for payment. Select the names of the team members who need to pay and click on save. Once you choose the team members who are due for the payment, verify your account summary, click on ‘save’ again and your payment item is created.

The home-page of the ‘Payments & Dues’ tab, displays a summary of each item for which payment is due, how much money is due, the due date etc. By clicking on ‘Payment Reminder’ you can send a reminder which will be sent as a text message, push notification and email. You can easily delete the payment items that are no longer required by clicking on the recycle bin besides the payment item.
